ABOUT US | Our Mission, Vision, & History

Built on Service. Defined by Mission.

Paladin Defense Group was founded by current and former U.S. Military professionals who believe that the discipline, expertise, and mission focus developed through military service doesn’t end at separation — it translates directly into the protection and support of the organizations, communities, and individuals who need it most.

We are a 100% veteran-owned, staffed, and operated security company. Every person on our team has served. Every service we deliver reflects the standards we held in uniform. That foundation is not a marketing statement — it is the defining characteristic of everything PDG does.

Our Mission:  To anticipate and prepare for conflict — delivering world-class advisory, training, and physical security solutions that protect our clients, their people, and their missions.

Drawing on extensive military backgrounds across Infantry, Special Operations, Military Intelligence, Combat Engineering, Explosive Ordnance Disposal, and Civil Affairs — PDG brings capabilities to every engagement that civilian security firms simply cannot replicate. Our veterans have operated in the most demanding environments in the world. That experience now serves our clients.

What This Means for Our Clients

  • Partnering with Local and Regional Forces — Our team has extensive experience working alongside indigenous forces, regional partners, and host-nation personnel — a capability that translates directly to integrated security programs that work within your organizational culture and existing structure rather than against it.
  • Strategic Influence and Precision Execution — Military operations demand both strategic thinking and precise execution. PDG applies the same discipline to every client engagement — understanding the full operational picture before recommending or implementing any solution.
  • Crisis Response and Adaptive Operations — When the situation changes, the mission adapts. PDG personnel are trained to operate effectively under pressure, adjust to evolving threat environments, and deliver results in conditions where other firms disengage.
  • Commitment to Client-Specific Solutions — No two organizations face identical threats or operate in identical environments. Our mission commitment means we tailor every advisory engagement, training program, and security solution to the specific needs, risks, and goals of each client we serve

Our Vision

PDG’s vision is to build and sustain a security force that is genuinely ready — not just on paper, but in practice. Ready means every team member is equipped with the right training, the right equipment, and the confidence to defend, respond, and succeed when it matters most.

That readiness doesn’t happen by accident. It is the product of deliberate investment in four core priorities that guide how PDG develops its personnel and delivers its services:

  1. Prepare: Continuously refine and advance training programs and operational strategies — ensuring our team is always prepared for any challenge, and that our clients receive programs built on the most current and effective security practices available.
  2. People: Invest in the development of every team member — fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and professional growth that elevates the quality of every service PDG delivers. Our people are our capability.
  3. Pursue: Actively seek and implement the latest advancements in security doctrine, operational techniques, and threat intelligence — ensuring PDG remains ahead of emerging threats and provides clients with solutions that reflect the current security environment, not yesterday’s standards.
  4. Preserve: Uphold the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and mission focus in every engagement. The trust our clients place in PDG is earned and maintained — through transparency, accountability, and results that speak for themselves.

These four priorities are not aspirational — they are operational. They shape how PDG recruits, trains, and evaluates its personnel; how we design and deliver our services; and how we measure our success as an organization.

The Paladin name represents a standard — one earned in the most demanding operational environments in the world. That standard follows us into every engagement we take on.

— Paladin Defense Group, Inc.

Our Name: A Legacy of Excellence

Names carry meaning. Paladin Defense Group is named after Combined Joint Task Force (CJTF) Paladin — one of the most consequential counter-IED organizations in the history of U.S. military operations. That name was chosen deliberately, and it represents a standard we hold ourselves to every day.

CJTF Paladin: The History

CJTF Paladin was established in 2005 as part of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) operating in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom. The task force was formed in direct response to the growing threat posed by Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) — the leading cause of coalition casualties in the conflict.

CJTF Paladin brought together a highly specialized team of professionals including:

  • Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Technicians
  • Counter-IED trainers and advisors
  • Intelligence analysts and collection personnel
  • Special Operations forces
  • Forensics laboratory teams

The task force pursued a comprehensive approach to the IED threat — not just responding to devices, but dismantling the networks that built and placed them. Through the integration of bomb technology expertise, forensic analysis, and intelligence operations, CJTF Paladin achieved significant success in neutralizing IED networks and reducing coalition casualties.

CJTF Paladin was deactivated in December 2013 as NATO’s combat mission in Afghanistan drew to a close, with its responsibilities transferred to the 242nd Ordnance Battalion (EOD). The task force’s legacy — built on expertise, precision, and an unwavering commitment to protecting those it served — endures in the name and the mission of Paladin Defense Group.

What the Name Means to Us

PDG was founded in 2014 — one year after CJTF Paladin was deactivated. The timing was not coincidental. Many of our founding team members served in or alongside the task force and other counter-IED operations during that period. The name Paladin carries the weight of that service and the commitment to continuing that mission in the private sector.

When clients choose Paladin Defense Group, they choose an organization whose name is backed by real operational history — not a marketing concept. The Paladin standard is what we were trained to, and it is what we deliver.
