Paladin Defense Group, Inc., established in 2014, is named after Combined Joint Task Force (CJTF) Paladin, which operated in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom. CJTF Paladin was part of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) and specialized in counter-IED efforts and Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD). 

The unit, formed in 2005, provided crucial support including EOD Technicians, counter-IED trainers, intelligence personnel, special operators, and forensics labs. CJTF Paladin achieved notable success in countering IED threats but was deactivated in December 2013 as NATO's combat mission ended. Its responsibilities were transferred to the smaller 242nd Ordnance Battalion (EOD). 

CJTF Paladin's legacy is marked by its expertise in bomb technology, forensics, and intelligence, aiming to prevent attacks by dismantling bomb maker networks.
